Setup requests should be submitted no less than two weeks prior to the event. The sooner an event setup is submitted, the more likely your request will be accommodated. While King of Glory and the maintenance / setup staff will try their best to provide a setup for any given event, anyone holding an event should be aware that a setup for their room(s) are/is not guaranteed.
Fire Code Compliance
Regardless of your setup requests, King of Glory will follow the James City County Fire Code. This is for the safety of everyone attending the event. Under no circumstances can any entrances to or from the room of your event be blocked by anything, including tables, chairs, portable screens, or trashcans. Access to all fire extinguishers must also be available at all times, and cannot be blocked or covered.
The maximum number of occupants for any given room is listed below, as well as on a plaque outside each room. This number cannot be exceeded at any point for any reason. Please consider not only the number of people you plan to attend your event, but also any helpers, volunteers, or staff that will be present.

In total throughout the King of Glory facility we have the following available for any given event:
Please note that a number of these tables and chairs are being used in other events or may be part of another setup throughout King of Glory. Time should be allowed for setup regardless of the size of the event or the number of tables and chairs requested.
Eight foot long collapsible tables (56 available)
These are the standard white tables you see throughout the facility, measuring 96” long by 30” wide. Each table can seat 4 people per side, with one person on each end as well for a total of 10 people per table. (Do keep in mind that the more people that are put around the table, the less comfortable it is.) In a classroom-style setup, only 4-6 people can be put at each table, since one side will be facing the front of the room.
Six foot long collapsible tables (5 available)
These tables are often used for sign-in tables or situations like fundraisers where only a few people need to sit at the table. They are 72” long by 30” wide. They will comfortably seat 4 people, although up to 6 people could fit around them.
Round tables (46 available)
These tables are frequently used for meals in large spaces like the Fellowship Hall, or for small-group discussions in classrooms. They measure 60” in diameter. They will seat 6 people comfortably, although up to 10 people can be seated around a table.
Folding chairs (289 available)
Cushioned folding chairs for any given event.
Portable projector, cart, and screen
A digital projector on a mobile cart, with a folding portable screen. The cart has only a power cord for the projector; any cables needed to connect the projector to a computer are the responsibility of the event.
Bible cart
A portable cart filled with bibles (primarily English Standard version).
Podium
A wooden podium.
Worship Services & Extenuating Circumstances
Please keep in mind that while it is our hope that we will be able to accommodate any and all requests for your event, there are circumstances that may prevent certain setups. In particular, regular Sunday and Wednesday activities, as well as emergency events like funerals, may take precedence. This is particularly pertinent when a request includes rooms regularly used for worship, or if a room takes a significant amount of time to reset (such as Founder's Hall [rooms 300-302]). The King of Glory staff will do our best to make your setup, event, and breakdown happen as close to your request as possible.
