Here are some formatting tips for using projection in the Fellowship Hall.  Be sure to read them all as some may apply to what you are doing.

Fellowship Hall Specific Items:

  • There is one fixed projection screen in the Fellowship Hall.  The projector aims directly at the screen that lowers in front of the stage in this location.
  • A portable projector and portable screen can be provided for alternative room arrangement.

Life Enrichment Room 3 & 4 Specific Items:

  • There is one fixed projection wall (a framed section of reflective paint) in Life Enrichment Room 4.  The projector aims directly at the framed wall screen in this location.

Using your own laptop:

  • All presentations require Tech Support setup in Fellowship Hall when using the fixed projector and screen.
  • A portable projector and portable screen can be provided for alternative room arrangement or unassisted events.

Using Tech Support for your event:

  • Arrive early enough to test your presentation. Tech support may have configured the projection to be ready without intervention by staff.
  • Send your files (if they are small enough) ahead of your presentation date to: support@kogva.org (this will allow us to prepare and test them prior to your arrival)
  • Have all of your files (PowerPoint, Movies, Sounds, Music, etc...) on a USB drive as a back-up.
  • Make sure you reviewed the room diagram and which areas you have chosen to project on.  This will likely be arranged before you arrive.  Check out the Fellowship Hall & Life Enrichment Room Diagram attached to this article.
  • See the tips for formatting PowerPoint, Showing Video, Using Music & Sound below.  These help every presentation communicate more effectively.
  • If you use ProPresenter, please feel free to bring files in the ".pro5" or later file type.  We will import them in and provide you with an iPad to control your presentation.
  • Movie files in .mov format work best.  If you can't convert your video on your own, please contact support@kogva.org ahead of your event to have it converted.
  • Notify the office if you have sound in your presentation.

Using Microsoft PowerPoint:

  • Format your presentation in 16:9 format to utilize the entire screen.
  • Don't use transitions or animations for slides.  We use ProPresenter6 for Mac in this room and our presentation software doesn't read these animations and transitions.  It will convert each slide to a static image for projection.
  • Follow best practices in designing your PowerPoint presentation.  Here is a great reference to brush up on making a great presentation: CLICK HERE

Showing Video:

  • The Screen Life Enrichment Room 3&4 are formatted in 4:3 format.  Wide screen editions will not fill the entire screen.
  • The Screen in the Fellowship Hall is in 4:3 format, but can be raised to accommodate 16:9 format.
